January Hobby Ideas

January is National Hobby Month – Start It Off Right!

What an appropriate time of year to designate as National Hobby Month. Jump-start the New Year off with a brand new hobby. After all the excitement of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, it’s time to prepare yourself for the New Year.

Many people choose to kick off the New Year with a resolution of exercise and good health practices. And that’s a great idea. Start off the New Year by doing what you enjoy. Hiking, biking, skating, swimming, walking, skiing, bowling – all these heart healthy activities are a great way to improve your health and put some fun in your life. And that’s the important thing about a hobby – make it enjoyable and you’ll find it easier to stick to.

If you prefer a more sedentary activity, there’s nothing more enjoyable than reading. Go to the library, join a Book Club, subscribe to your local newspaper or favorite magazine, and use the internet, it’s a priceless source of information. Read! Read! Read! You won’t regret it.

The dictionary describes a hobby as an activity or interest pursued outside one’s regular occupation, primarily for pleasure. On the following pages, we hope to bring you invaluable information to help you choose a hobby that’s just right for you. So, let’s get started!
